河南省科学院化学所，创建于1958年，隶属于中国科学院，1980年后隶属于河南省科学院，2006年根据国家科研体制改革政策进行了产权制度改革，形成了集科研开发和生产经营于一体的新型科研院所。经过几代人的不懈努力，已发展成为河南省综合实力最强的研究机构之一。
研究所现有职工240人，其中专业技术人员占总人数比例达85％，具有博士学位和高级职称的研究人员20余人，国家有突出贡献的中青年专家、享受国家政府津贴的优秀专家、省管优秀专家26人。拥有7600平方米的实验大楼和占地65亩的科研中试基地。
研究方向涉及高分子化学、有机合成、生物催化、腐植酸化学、精细化工、复合材料、化工新材料、污水处理及资源化工程等专业。改革开放以来，共承担完成国家和省重大科技攻关项目、国家和省级自然科学基金、国家重点实验室和开放实验室基金、国际合作项目、省杰出人才创新基金等各类科技计划项目和产学研合作项目300余项，发表论文3000篇，取得科研成果400余项，获发明专利50项，出版专著十余部，其中获国家科技进步奖、国家发明奖9项，省科技进步一等奖3项，省部级二、三等奖100多项。设立有中-白（白俄罗斯）国际联合实验室、河南省木质素工程技术研究中心和河南省科学院化工先进材料重点实验室。功能化环境新材料科研团队被认定为河南省“创新性科技团队”， 杨瑞娜研究员获得“全国五一劳动奖章”和“全国劳动模范”光荣称号。化学所是河南省化学化工文献查新检索咨询定点单位，是河南省化学会的挂靠单位。
长期来与日本、美国、英国、德国、加拿大、澳大利亚、白俄罗斯等国家及台湾地区高校科研院所建立了学术交流、合作研究和人才培养的密切合作关系。本所研究生教育已成为省内重要人才培养基地，培养出了众多国内外知名的专家学者。同时，还聘任了十几位国内外著名化学家作为化学所的兼职研究员。
化学所坚持科研与经济建设的紧密结合，重视科研成果的转化，创建了“郑州绿野高新技术实业公司”、“郑州百事特化工科技有限公司”、“河南省德利科技发展公司”和“郑州市奇创化工有限公司”四个高新技术企业。

Introduction
Institute of Chemistry, Henan Academy of Sciences (ICHAS), which was founded in 1958, was ever belonged to Chinese Academy of Sciences till 1980 and thereafter belonged to Henan Academy of Sciences. Via the property reformation in 2006 according to national policies, ICHAS developed into a new-style integrated research institution, dealing with both research & development and production & management. Owing to the hard efforts of generations of personnel, ICHAS has become one of the comprehensively strongest research institutions of Henan province. Among the present 240 personnel of ICHAS, 85% of them are professional and technical personnel, more than 20 of them have doctor degrees or senior titles and 26 of them have been honored National Middle-Aged and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions, National Excellent Experts with Special Government Allowance and Provincial Excellent Experts. ICHAS has a 7,600 m2 laboratory building and a 43,000 m2 pilot production base.
The research fields of ICHAS cover polymer chemistry, organic synthesis, biocatalysis, humic acids chemistry, fine chemistry, composite materials, new chemical materials, water treatment and reclamation engineering. Since the reform and opening of China, ICHAS has accomplished more than 300 research and cooperation projects including National and Provincial Significant Sci-Tech Projects, Open Research Funds of State Key Laboratory, International Cooperation Projects and Innovation Foundations for Talents of Henan Province. ICHAS has offered more than 3,000 research papers, more than 400 research achievements, more than 50 patented inventions and more than 10 published monographs. Among these offers, 9 of them won the National Sci-Tech Progress Awards and National Invention Awards, 3 of them won the First Prizes of Provincial Sci-Tech Progress Awards, and more than 100 of them won the Second and Third Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Awards. China-Belorussia International United Laboratory, Lignin Engineering Research Center of Henan Province and Advanced Chemical Materials Key Laboratory of Henan Academy of Sciences are set in ICHAS. The Research Group of New Functional Environmental Materials has been honored “Innovative Sci-Tech Group of Henan Province”. Researcher Yang Rui-Na has been honored “National May 1st Labor Medal” and “National Model Worker”. ICHAS is also the Chemistry Novelty Retrieval Unit of Henan Province and the sponsoring unit of Henan Chemistry Society.
Ever since long ago, ICHAS has built close cooperations with universities and institutes in Japan, America, England, Germany, Canada, Australia, Belorussia and Taiwan of China on academic exchanges, collaborative researches and talent cultivations. ICHAS has also played an important role in postgraduate education in Henan province and has brought up numerous well-known experts and scholars in and outside China. At the same time, ICHAS has employed more than ten famous domestic and foreign chemists as part-time researchers.
ICHAS insist on the tight combination of research works with economic constructions and put emphasis on the conversion of research achievements. ICHAS has already established four high-new technology enterprises, i.e., Zhengzhou Lvye High-New Technology Industrial Company, Zhengzhou Best Chemical Company Limited, Henan Deli Technology Development Company and Zhengzhou Qichuang Chemical Company limited.
ICHAS aims to become a group “based on group cultivation, promoted by sci-tech innovation, supported by industry development, programmed by management innovation and directed by sustainability idea”. ICHAS will keep and develop the spirits of progressing steadfastly, working industriously, marching bravely and managing strictly. ICHAS will surely make much more contributions to the economic constructions and social developments of China.
